Job Summary:
The Health Economist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research, analysis, and evaluation of health-related policies, programs, and interventions. The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in health economics to provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to inform decision-making processes within the organization. The Health Economist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost-effective strategies that optimize healthcare delivery and improve health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct economic evaluations and cost-effectiveness analyses of health interventions, programs, and policies.
2. Collect, analyze, and interpret complex health and economic data from various sources.
3. Build economic models and develop forecasting techniques to assess the impact of healthcare interventions on public health and financial outcomes.
4. Evaluate the economic implications of healthcare initiatives, including pricing, reimbursement, and funding strategies.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement research methodologies, ensuring the validity and reliability of findings.
6. Prepare detailed reports, policy briefs, and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.
7. Stay updated with the latest developments in health economics, healthcare financing, and health policy to contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
8. Provide expert advice and support to the organization's management on health economics-related matters.
9. Collaborate with internal and external partners to contribute to the development of health economic research proposals and grant applications.
10. Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and other professional platforms.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Master's or Ph.D. degree in Health Economics, Economics, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) as a Health Economist or in a similar role, preferably in a research or consultancy setting.
3. Strong knowledge of health economics theories, concepts, and methodologies.
4. Proficiency in utilizing statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SAS) and economic modeling tools.
5. Extensive experience in conducting economic evaluations and cost-effectiveness analyses.
6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data.
7. Strong understanding of healthcare systems, financing mechanisms, and policy frameworks.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
9. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and establish effective working relationships.
11. Demonstrated ability to think critically and provide evidence-based recommendations.
12. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
13. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in research and analysis.
